Centrally situated amidst breath taking scenery in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Acorn Cottage is a detached cottage in the popular village of Aberfoyle in the Trossachs.

Our holiday cottage in a beautiful woodland setting offers a cosy home from home to all our guests. Aberfoyle and its shops pubs, restaurants and Tourist Information Centre are only short 5 minute walk away.

We have a high STB 4 star rating for our 2 bedroomed cottage which consists of 1 double ensuite bedroom, a twin bedroom, lounge, separate family bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen/diner.

The kitchen has a TV, plus all other rooms have TV's and DVD's. There is also a portable Radio/CD player and wireless broadband connection. A travel cot and highchair can be provided for our smaller guests on request.

The kitchen/diner opens onto a decked area with table and chairs where guests can relax and enjoy their surroundings.
Perfect for both outdoor enthusiasts or those just wishing to relax, our private garden overlooks the old forest. We have a large raised BBQ area with a picnic table and seating. Ample parking. Outside wash down facility and storage for bikes/tackle etc. Locally there is fishing, golfing, walking, cycling, water sports, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and much more.

Free river and loch fishing is available to our guests by arrangement. The cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling, are all within an hours drive, with a diverse range of attractions, activities and excellent retail therapy! Towels, linen and a welcome pack are supplied.

Kyle of Lochalsh/Plockton.

Here are some of the most exquisite and fascinating areas in Scotland . Before you reach Kyle you will have driven through some of the most dramatic scenery in Scotland.

Plockton has a natural harbour in a superb setting where you can catch Calum's Boat to go on seal and dolphin trips. Pass through the village of Lochcarron and Kishorn to the village of Applecross with the famous "Pass of the Cattle" which offers a superb vista of Skye and Raasay.

Eileen Donan Castle nestles between the sea and the Five Sisters at Dornie. Visit Lochalsh Woodland Centre,Plockton's rare breeds conservation centre, the Falls of Glomach, Kintail Clan MacLennan Museum, Raasay House, Dunvegan and Armadale castles.

The Otter Haven at Kylerhea is well worth a visit where you can see protected otters at play in natural surroundings, also an abundance of wildlife can be seen from the otter hide.

Boats and canoes can also be hired in Plockton.

A87 turning on to the A890 North Road, Approx 6 miles take the minor road - left- (signposted Achmore/Plockton) then the Portachullin road - right-in Achmore village Property is 5th house on the left after low railway bridge.

Situated on the beautiful north west coast of North Uist, Tigh na Boireach and Boreray are two traditional thatched cottages rebuilt to an original design but incorporating all modern conveniences and comforts. Very romantic!

The centre feature of the bedroom in each cottage is a hand carved four poster bed. Comfortable sitting room with restored Victorian fireplace with gas flame effect fire, TV, video & hi-fi. Fitted kitchen includes fridge, electric cooker, washer dryer, dishwasher and microwave. Cottages are heated by gas fire and storage heaters.

Hill & beach walking, birdwatching and day trips to other islands.

Two beautiful properties of a very high standard, they are within very easy reach of miles of sandy beaches (a short walking distance). There is a general shop, Post Office, Bank of Scotland, local hospital and hotel at Lochmaddy and a Co-Op shop at Sollas.
