About No.2 Danby Cottages

Our holiday cottage has a double bedroom and a twin bedded room upstairs which share a bathroom. The downstairs bedroom has a king-sized bed, with a ceiling hoist and an accessible wet-room en suite. A wheeled shower commode chair is available if needed and folding shower stool and various grab rails are fitted in the bathroom.

The kitchen is fitted with a range of modern units with solid beech worktops. Equipment includes a dishwasher, a fridge, a freezer, a microwave oven, a full size electric oven and hob and a Belfast sink. There is also a lowered area of the worktop to facilitate the use of a wheelchair.

Our living/dining room is a large, new room with a pitched ceiling and an oak floor. The wall facing the garden consists of an extended floor-to-ceiling series of glass doors which can be folded back to give uninterrupted access to a large area of decking and the garden beyond. The wall opposite these glass doors has an extended cupboard built in with a sliding door behind which the television and audio equipment is concealed.

There is a small front garden with steps and a shallow ramp up to the glazed front door. Outside the back door, there is a large area of decking with a substantial outdoor table, chairs and a bench and a ramp down to the large back garden.

Visiting Yorkley & Exploring Gloucestershire

Yorkley is a pretty village in West Gloucestershire and a great place to stay when exploring the Forest of Dean. It is just a short drive from Lydney and has a couple of pubs and shops.

The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is home to a great range of attractions - some manmade, some completely natural but all of them well worth a visit. You may wish to discover the area's history or enjoy a stroll around a nature reserve.

There’s an array of family oriented attractions where you can all have fun, relax or enjoy some animal magic. On rainy days there’s also plenty to do from museums to caves or how about spending some time riding a steam train through the forest or taking a cruise down the River Wye.
